Enjoy being you again.
No quick fixes. No hacks. No overhauls. Just real connection and support to help you feel - and live with - more ease, awareness, and capacity for joy.
I’m Dr Djahane Banoo, a heart-centred, rigorously trained NARM Master therapist and ICF coach who knows what it’s like to battle with the messiness and complexity of being human. It’s one of life’s biggest challenges, but when harnessed with compassion, awareness, and understanding, it’s also one of our greatest gifts.
That’s where I come in…
I’m not here to fix you. You’re not broken.
But past traumas, unresolved issues, and conflicts can make us forget that. They can leave us feeling ‘less-than’; unworthy and full of self-doubt. I’m here to help you remember who you are, and why you’re more than enough.
You deserve to be here. To take up space. You deserve to feel good in your skin, your choices, and your life. But it can be really hard to believe that when we’ve spent such a long time fighting with ourselves. Clients choose to work with me when they’re really tired of that fight, or simply ready for something different. Often, they:
Find it difficult to set boundaries, and say no to people
Don’t know what they truly want, or how they really feel
Struggle to trust and connect with others, despite craving closeness
Feel anxious, numb, or overwhelmed
Repeat old patterns in relationships
Djahane has a deep knowledge of what it means to be a human…
…which transpires in every interaction with her. What makes her stand out from others is her calm and soothing energy and ability to go with the flow of one's thoughts. While Djahane is very scientific, she is also very spiritual. For me, that spiritual element was a very important factor in working with her.
I’ve developed a much deeper understanding of myself, my triggers, challenges, and how to deal with them. I’ve become more confident about experiencing my emotions, and understanding how they are “speaking” to me.

When you’re ready to do the work, I’m right here with you.
We’ll be a good fit if you’re open to going deeper, at a pace that feels manageable. And you want real, lasting change (even if you’re nervous).
Work, kids, appointments - you’re the one who keeps life running…
You handle a seriously heavy load, but inside you feel flat, heavy, and strangely removed from yourself.
It’s time to feel present, interested, and emotionally alive again. ………………………
You tell yourself that you “shouldn’t feel this sad”; that “others have it worse”…
But completing simple tasks is getting harder and harder. When you’re not numb, you’re self-critical, downplaying your own experiences while still dealing with their painful repercussions.
You want a quieter, kinder, and more grounded relationship with yourself. … …
Your go-to response is “I’m fine”...
Even though you’re exhausted, depleted, and tired of pretending.
You crave motivation, joy, and a sense that life’s worth investing in. ……………… …………….
You’re still feeling the aftershocks of past experiences…
You thought it was long behind you, but sudden outbursts, shutting down, and withdrawing suggest otherwise.
You long to feel safer in your body and more in control of your responses. ………. …
You can intellectually rationalise your past - but your nervous system still reacts as if danger is around every corner…
Despite plenty of thinking, analysing, and poring over details, your body remains on edge.
You crave more ease and true rest in your day-to-day life - and your body. …………..….
You’re the peace-keeper, the people-pleaser, the one to smooth things over…
Even when it really freakin’ hurts. You laugh it off and play it down, telling yourself it’s not worth the potential rejection or drama.
You want to feel safe enough to speak up, to feel confident enough to say when it hurts without fear of being ‘too much’.
Still with me? Great. Let’s go a little deeper. Does the following feel familiar? …
Starting therapy can be freaking scary… But you don’t have to have the right words to begin.
How we’ll get started:
You are in control. From the pacing of each session to consent, boundaries, and beyond, I’m here to support you. Not the other way around.
I’m a huge believer in being real with people. I respect your bravery and willingness to show up for yourself by being honest and authentic. But know that I’ll be your steady ally; warm, honest and on your side, providing a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space to heal, learn and grow.
Sure, therapy’s vulnerable, honest and raw - but that’s also what makes it so damn powerful.
-
The biggest and bravest step - and I applaud you for taking it. Once you’ve got in touch via my Contact Form or email, I’ll get back to you within 24 hours. I know what it takes to reach out, so I won’t leave you hanging around for my reply.
-
We’ll meet for a first session either via Zoom or in person at my office in the Stühlinger Neighborhood Freiburg-im-Breisgau. It’ll be a chance to talk through what’s going on for you, what you’d like to get out of therapy, and to see if we’re a good fit.
My rate is 120 Euro for a 50-minute session (I offer a reduced rate of 100 Euro for those who can’t afford my full rate).
-
If it feels right, we’ll continue to meet weekly or every two weeks. Together, we’ll explore what you want for yourself, as well as what might be getting in the way. We’ll check in regularly to reflect and reassess, ensuring that the sessions stay as beneficial as possible for you as we move forward.
How I work:
My Approach:
My work is based on the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) - a grounded, trauma-informed approach to healing developmental and attachment trauma, which many clients find deeply supportive.
Integrating body awareness, emotion, and cognition, NARM is a holistic mind/body approach that helps you to connect to the wisdom of your nervous system, and better regulate it, leaving you feeling safer, steadier, and more grounded.
My Style & Values:
Above all, I value and respect your unique identity and experience. Individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, and backgrounds are welcome in my practice. I believe in creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone can explore, heal, and grow without judgement or discrimination. With sessions offered in English or German, online and in my practice in Stühlinger Freiburg-im-Breisgau, I combine flexibility with stability; my style is steady, kind and authentic (and I love a good laugh, too!).
